We are delighted to inform that the call for papers for CAA Visegrad conference in Cieszyn is now open. The conference, organised by CAA PL/Scientific Society of Polish Archaeologists, The Institute of Archaeology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, The Slovak University of Technology, and Archaeolingua Foundation; hosted by Museum of Cieszyn Silesia, is scheduled for Thursday and Friday 28th/29th May with a field-trip on Saturday 30th.

On the meeting in Cieszyn „CAA Visegrad: Realities, expectations and perspectives of cooperation for interdisciplinary and crossborder research projects” we aim to gather all kinds of papers and topics that state the common ground for developing ways of linking new technologies with social studies. Theme of the conference shall also revolve around the issues of international cooperation within the Visegrad countries. We suggest the following topics:

1) Life of past societies: data analysis and simulations

2) Heritage studies

3) New developments in remote sensing and computer applications

4) Community archaeology

5) Virtual realities for research, education and exhibition

6) New techniques and theory

7) Open data and software

We are also open to any other ideas.

The abstracts, maximum 250 words in one of the following languages: English, Czech, Hungarian, Polish or Slovak, including authors names, affiliations and emails, shall be send to caavisegrad2015@gmail.com by the end of March 2015. The registration shall be open after the preliminary programme is published in early April, the estimated conference fee is 50€ (30€ student-rate).If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
